Recent Project Highlight

One of our favourite jobs recently was a challenging yet rewarding loft conversion featuring prominent exposed oak beams. This project beautifully showcased the inherent character of the building. The main challenge was meticulously working around the existing timber structure, ensuring everything was perfectly straight and level while preserving the natural aesthetic of the beams. Working with older buildings always presents unique complexities as nothing is ever truly square, requiring immense patience and precise measurements. Upon completion, the transformed space, complete with a new floor, balustrade, and walls, became a bright and functional room. The customer was delighted, as we successfully converted an empty attic into a usable living area while retaining the rustic charm of the original beams. Projects like this are why we love carpentry – seeing a raw space brought to life and enjoyed by its owners.
